Summer in the Rhythm of the Cetina begins with an event that brings together a passion for automobiles, heritage, friendship and leisurely travel. On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Trilj will host a Classic Car Gathering, welcoming owners and enthusiasts of historic vehicles from across Croatia and the wider region.

Participants will begin their journey in Dugopolje before arriving at the Gardun Plateau, in front of St. Peter’s Church, at around 10:00 a.m. One of the most scenic viewpoints in the Trilj area will serve as the backdrop for a commemorative group photograph of all participants. The programme will then continue with a guided visit to the archaeological site of Tilurium, once a Roman military camp and today one of the most valuable monuments of ancient heritage in the Dalmatian Hinterland.

The procession of classic cars will then make its way to Trilj, where the vehicles will be exhibited from 11:30 a.m. at the parking area of Hotel Sveti Mihovil (Bana Jelačića Street 8). Visitors will have the opportunity to admire a wide range of attractive automobiles, including rare and meticulously preserved models that continue to inspire generations of car enthusiasts, designers and lovers of technical heritage.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Oldtimer Promo Tour project team. What began as a celebration of automobiles, art, design and beauty in its broadest sense has, over the years, evolved into much more than a gathering of vehicles. Its true value lies in bringing together people of different generations and life stories through a shared passion for preserving heritage and enjoying the journey itself. Rather than competing for speed, participants compete in the enjoyment of travel, creating positive emotions wherever they go while bringing classic vehicles back to life on today’s roads.

“We wanted one of the first events of this year’s Summer in the Rhythm of the Cetina programme to be something relaxed, authentic and slightly nostalgic. Classic cars have a unique ability to make people stop, smile and start conversations with complete strangers. At the same time, they give us an opportunity to showcase some of the most beautiful locations in our area, from Gardun and Tilurium to the very heart of Trilj. I believe that many visitors will discover this Sunday that some of the most memorable experiences can be found just beyond the usual tourist routes,” said Carmen Marcela Perica, Director of the Trilj Tourist Board.

The Trilj Tourist Board invites residents, visitors and automobile enthusiasts alike to join the event, explore the vehicles and enjoy a pleasant Sunday morning in the town on the Cetina River. Summer in the Rhythm of the Cetina may be a little further away from the crowds, but it is much closer to authentic experiences. And while some cars have engines, classic cars also have stories. Discover them and hear them for yourself this Sunday, June 14, in Trilj.
